coffeecups: There is no such thing as a free lunch. Jul 21, 2017 21:38:07 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: So you're saying you're buying me a new one? :) Jul 20, 2017 20:12:20 GMT -6
julieo: Sky, they are all on sale this week. https://www.acurite.com/hot-buys.html?utm_source=hero&utm_medium=170719_WeeklyDeals&utm_campaign=Email Jul 20, 2017 12:39:22 GMT -6 *
SKYSUMMIT: Haha...let me know what he finds. I'll have to get one too lol Jul 11, 2017 22:40:16 GMT -6
julieo: In fact my son does IT work. I will have him source me a good battery backup that would last at least through a major storm event! Then hope my installation holds up to get the juicy data! Jul 11, 2017 21:03:55 GMT -6
julieo: I know my "IT" tech specs! Jul 11, 2017 20:47:13 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: Yep, that's correct :) Jul 11, 2017 20:36:00 GMT -6
julieo: soo.. Sky, none of it will be any good remotely if I lose power at the house without having a large battery backup attached to my internet modem/router and smart hub (if I go that route). Correct? Jul 11, 2017 20:08:57 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: Only problem with that one is if you don't have a dedicated PC to get your data online, you still need to buy the Smart Hub Jul 11, 2017 19:47:44 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: but that's the tower sensor I want to get to replace mine with, along with the HD console. Jul 11, 2017 19:47:13 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: https://www.acurite.com/hd-display-with-5-in-1-weather-station-and-lightning-detector.html Jul 11, 2017 19:46:50 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: This is probably what I'm going to get...has the same 5 in 1 sensor I have right now which is going on 4 years in service so it may be ending its life. Jul 11, 2017 19:46:47 GMT -6
julieo: lol.. I better start small. If I am jamming on this thing I'll upgrade when I am a "pro-gauger" :) Jul 11, 2017 19:45:37 GMT -6
julieo: Thanks! :) The first one is on sale too! :) Got to love lightening deals! (excuse the pun!) Jul 11, 2017 19:44:49 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: But if I don't go with the Atlas, I'll probably get a new tower sensor...the one with the lightning detector and the new HD console to go with it. Jul 11, 2017 19:44:00 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: No, I don't have the lightning sensor. I will be upgrading mine though...just waiting to see what the new Atlas model is like from Acurite. It will be comparable to the Davis stations. I had a small hand in some of the beta testing of them :) Jul 11, 2017 19:43:32 GMT -6
julieo: That is sooo... cool! Even if I evacuate a storm I can see the data going on at my house! Jul 11, 2017 19:39:44 GMT -6
julieo: Did you add on the lightening sensor? Jul 11, 2017 19:38:37 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: Here's my station on Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KLAPONCH7#history Jul 11, 2017 19:38:09 GMT -6
SKYSUMMIT: Julieo, that first one you shared is the exact weather station I have here and it has been in operation for going on 4 years now. The temp sensor does read high in the summer if under direct sunlight but I have a tower sensor I use for that. Jul 11, 2017 19:37:49 GMT -6
